'Freeze' the Day: Detroit Outdoors Runs Its Second Michigan Ice Fest Outing Detroit Outdoors brought a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) group to Michigan's Upper Peninsula for Michigan Ice Fest, an ice climbing festival. The outing was a series of back-to-back firsts in other ways for many of the attendees, some of whom had never been to the Upper Peninsula, crossed the Mackinac Bridge, seen Lake Superior, or ice climbed before. Coverage of the outing also landed on the front page of the Detroit Free Press Sunday edition.

Could Climate Chaos Sink the US Real Estate Market?

Climate change's impact on the housing market is, in many ways, an economic issue. It involves supply and demand, market signals, subsidies, and incentives. At its heart, however, this is a deeply human problem.

Urge US Banks to Take Action on Climate

The most important climate votes you've never heard of are coming up this spring during banks’ and insurance companies' shareholder meetings. These meetings are where they hold elections for their boards of directors and vote on shareholder proposals—some of which, if passed, could help combat banks' funding of climate chaos.

We're calling on asset managers BlackRock, Vanguard, Fidelity, and State Street to leverage their power and urge banks to take action on climate.

The Inflation Reduction Act Is Driving a Renewed Pivot to Green Energy

The states reaping the most from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tend to be those mainly represented by Republican members of Congress, even though not a single Republican in the House or Senate voted for the climate bill to pass.

But that isn't stopping manufacturers in their states from enjoying the benefits of going renewable.
