To MAGA Republicans, it’s “law and order” until Trump gets arrested.
John, it's finally happened:
Today, the twice-impeached former White-Supremacist-in-Chief has been arraigned before a judge. However, unlike millions of others being held in jails across the country, awaiting their day in court, the former President gets to go back home tonight. No mugshot, no handcuffs.
This is yet another example of how there’s two justice systems in America — one for the rich and well-connected and the other for the rest of us.
Since learning he was to be indicted, Trump has signaled that if he is held accountable for his crimes, there will be civil unrest and potentially worse, similar to what we saw after the 2020 election and on January 6, 2021.
Today’s MAGA “rally” outside the NYC courthouse was one such attempt to intimidate other prosecutors and the Department of Justice from continuing their ongoing investigations into Trump.
In the days since announcing his arrest, Trump and his Republican allies in Congress have raised millions off his criminality. The far-right will only be emboldened by news of his arraignment and arrest. And we will need the resources to stand up and fight back.
With the 2024 election approaching, if you’re able to, can you pitch in to fuel our movement today to confront Trump and his far-right allies?
