Dear John,
Over the last two decades, our politics has been defined by partisanship and gridlock, but the members of the Future Caucus [[link removed]] are changing this reality every day.
Young leaders in Delaware are joining our national movement in an attempt to deliver better results for their communities. Last Tuesday, some of the youngest members of the state’s General Assembly launched the Delaware Future Caucus [[link removed]] .
The newly launched caucus is the 32nd state to officially join Millennial Action Project’s State Future Caucus network. These young Delawarean leaders will build efforts that bring civility to the political discourse and prove that good governance begins with meaningful collaboration.
“ I'm really excited about co-chairing the Delaware Future Caucus,” said Rep. Michael Smith, Republican co-chair. “As we deal with the policy decisions that will drive Delaware forward over the next 20 years, I'm excited to work with a bipartisan group of emerging leaders to forge a new Delaware way.”
"Young legislators bring a unique perspective to the table in tackling our state's long term challenges that our generation will face in the decades to come. To win the future, we need a sense of urgency, creativity, and boldness, along with a willingness to challenge ourselves and one another through thoughtful dialogue across the political spectrum,” said Sen. Sarah McBride, Democratic co-chair. “ I'm incredibly proud to join with other young legislators of both parties in both chambers to form the Delaware Future Caucus so that, together, we can build a stronger, sustainable, and more prosperous tomorrow."
