Trump In Court

Former President Donald Trump was formally arraigned today in a Manhattan courtroom on charges that he violated federal campaign finance laws in 2016. Trump plead not guilty to all charges.

A large crowd of pro-Trump supporters and anti-Trump demonstrators gathered on the streets outside the courthouse. There are unconfirmed reports that many New York City police officers called in sick rather than participate in this partisan, sham prosecution of the former president.

In spite of this unprecedented event, there is wailing and gnashing of teeth on the left today. Trump was not handcuffed. He was not put in a jail cell. There will reportedly be no “Trump mug shot ([link removed]) ” for the left and its media allies to exploit.

It must be repeated that this is a legally absurd case. The Justice Department ([link removed]) , the previous Manhattan district attorney ([link removed]) and even the current Manhattan district attorney ([link removed]) all previously refused to prosecute.

Hillary Clinton essentially did the same thing ([link removed]) and only got a fine. Bill Clinton lied under oath and was never criminally prosecuted.

Meanwhile, there is a real crime that has been committed and should be prosecuted. Someone is leaking information from the sealed grand jury indictment, and that is a felony offense ([link removed]) . But I’m not holding my breath that some anti-Trump activist in the New York City bureaucracy will be held accountable.

President Trump will reportedly make a statement this evening at 8:15 from Mar-a-Lago.

We will be pouring over the indictment and monitoring other analyses tonight to give you a more complete account tomorrow. But so far, it seems that the 34 charges are all related to one incident of misreporting a business expense. In other words, it does not appear to really be 34 separate felonies.

Several legal analysts who are not friends of Trump reacted to this by saying it looks exactly like what a prosecutor on a political witch hunt would do.

It can’t be said enough how much the purpose of all this is to silence Donald Trump and to silence all of us.

Alvin Bragg showed the judge one of Trump’s social media posts in which he expressed his displeasure at the prosecution. In the photo, Trump is holding a baseball bat, and Bragg suggested that Trump was inciting violence. Bragg appeared to be inviting the judge to impose a gag order.

Trump’s attorneys responded by saying he has been subjected to leaks throughout this process that have harmed him for months. It would be unconscionable to not allow Trump to respond. The judge declined to impose a gag order now, but he warned Trump to watch his rhetoric.

Just an aside, recall what Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Chuck Schumer said about the justices who overturned Roe v. Wade. Schumer said ([link removed]) , “You won’t know what hits you.”

He inspired a wanna-be assassin to fly across the country to try to assassinate Supreme Court justices. Again, one set of rules for the left and a completely different set of rules for us.


About That Balloon. . .

When a spy balloon from communist China flew over the continental United States, the Biden Administration responded by downplaying the seriousness of the situation. The president himself dismissed it ([link removed]) as “not a major breach.”

Well, somebody’s not telling the truth.

NBC News ([link removed]) reports that the spy balloon “was able to gather intelligence from several sensitive American military sites.” Moreover, Beijing controlled the balloon, making “multiple passes over some of the sites at times flying figure-eight formations,” while transmitting information back in real time.

Responding to the outrage ([link removed]) from Capitol Hill, the Biden White House continues to insist that the balloon “didn’t discover anything really additive to what they could have gotten from other intelligence sources.”

That doesn’t pass the straight face test. The Chinese communists are very deliberate in their strategies. Why would they risk an international incident by sending a spy balloon over the continental United States if they could get the same information by other means?

This is just one more example of how stupid the Biden Administration thinks you are.



The Neo-Marxist Left

The evidence is overwhelming ([link removed]) that the Biden family has been compromised by communist China, and yet nothing is being done. Meanwhile, the left is trying to throw Donald Trump in jail over bizarre allegations of federal campaign finance violations that local prosecutors have nothing to do with.

Joe Biden campaigned on a promise to unite the country. But just look at what is happening in Joe Biden’s America today.
* His administration set up a tip line to report parents who went to school boards meetings upset over the anti-American history and gender insanity being forced on their kids. Biden’s FBI labeled concerned parents as “domestic terrorists ([link removed]) .” Government agents went to their homes to interrogate them.

* Biden’s “Justice” Department is intimidating pro-life activists in the most frightening ways possible ([link removed]) .

* As we noted yesterday, journalist Matt Taibbi worked with Elon Musk to expose how the Deep State colluded with Big Tech to censor the American people and spread disinformation online. Then, IRS agents showed up at Taibbi’s home ([link removed]) on the very day he testified before Congress on the government’s censorship.


What’s going on here?!

One answer is that the neo-Marxist left means to browbeat us into silence, to make us fearful of speaking out, getting involved and resisting their efforts to fundamentally transform America.

Glenn Beck ([link removed]) raised another possibility. Perhaps they’re being so offensive because they are trying to provoke another “January 6th event” that allows them to label opponents of the current government as “enemies of America.”

Just a word to the wise.



Decision Day In The Badger State

State Supreme Court elections are never trivial affairs. But today’s election for an open seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court is tremendously important. It has national implications ([link removed]) . That’s why the left has been pouring money ([link removed]) into this race, desperately hoping to flip control of the court.

Brian Schimming, chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party, said, “This is the most consequential race facing Wisconsin in decades.”

If leftist Janet Protasiewicz prevails, Wisconsin will be all in for abortion on demand and the radical transgender movement. Parental rights and religious liberty will be under siege.

But there’s more. Wisconsin Democrats are already rubbing their hands with glee. If they win a one-vote majority, they’re plotting to overturn the state’s congressional maps, putting three Republican House seats in jeopardy and, thus, the entire GOP House majority in 2024.

Leftist Legislators Punished

We told you yesterday that multiple state capitols have been subjected to left-wing insurrections in recent years. It happened last week in Tennessee.

One of the things that struck me in the aftermath of January 6th was how leftist politicians and their media allies tried to implicate conservative members of Congress in the “insurrection.” That was all fake news.

But three Tennessee Democrats ([link removed]) did aid and abet the illegal takeover of the state House chamber last week. They have been stripped of their committee assignments and may be expelled.
