My team is busy doing everything they can to make sure we reach our first very fundraising deadline of the year tomorrow, so I told them I would reach out to a few of our top supporters and ask for help, too. But before I do, I owe you an explanation.

Democrats can take back our government this year. Our House majority is strong and we only need to flip four seats in the Senate to take back the chamber.

But Mitch McConnell and his rolodex of wealthy friends are pledging to dump nearly $200 million into competitive races across the country to attack vulnerable Democrats. We’ve already seen these attacks pop up in the last few weeks alone.

So I’m focused on doing everything I can to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in tough races. But the truth is, unless we have the resources to fight back against the GOP, we have no chance of winning.

Because our fundraising totals are not just a bunch of numbers: they’re a sign of how strong our grassroots movement is.
