Friends,

In 2018, I spoke at the Anchorage Women’s March. I remember how nervous I was walking up to the podium, addressing a large crowd as a first-time candidate.

The nerves washed away when I saw the sea of folks gathered in freezing temperatures for the same reason: to ignite change.

This year, I spoke at the Mat-Su Valley Women’s March. My nerves are gone, but the fire is the same. And on this campaign, we are still working to ignite change.

I see little acts of change every day on the campaign trail.

I see the caretaker, using the little time left in her busy schedule to stamp envelopes in the office.

I see the parent, unable to afford childcare and bringing their little one with them while they knock on doors.

I see the student, juggling work and classes, but still giving time and contributing what he can to this campaign because he has hope in the future of this state.

This movement is built by little acts of change from people like you.

Today is the 11th anniversary of the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which is a perfect example of what we can accomplish if we work together and never give up. Women fought for decades for equal pay, and that determination paid off when the bill was finally signed in 2009.

Today, I’m asking you to join our movement and give whatever you can to help us hit our first big goal of 2020. We’re trying to raise $15,000 before the 31st so we can continue to turn little acts of change into the greatest force for change Alaska has ever seen. [[link removed]]
