Hi there,

It’s hard to look away from the horror show happening in Washington. We have a president governing by tweet and tarnishing our values at home and abroad. At this make-or-break moment in history, we are running out of time to get things right.

We keep sending politicians to Washington to fight for us, but when they get there they seem more interested in the part about fighting than the part about us. We must call out this behavior and hold our elected officials accountable.

Iowans start caucusing in five days and the race is in a dead heat. We need to talk to as many caucusgoers as we can in the next few days.

Right now we’re up against the biggest FEC deadline that we've ever experienced. This Friday night, January 31st, is the last time we’ll close our books before the Iowa Caucuses -- and we need your help right now. [[link removed]

By 2030, we’ll have hit the point of no return on climate change. Instead of taking action, D.C. has chosen denial and obstruction as we’re faced with imminent catastrophic effects. By 2030 there will be another 130 million guns on the street, but even reforms that most Americans can agree on -- like universal background checks and red flag laws -- cannot get through Congress because Washington has been so fully captured by special interests that it no longer reflects the American people.

Perhaps most dangerously, Republican politicians in Washington have made our problems worse by enabling the most corrupt presidential administration in history -- supporting racism and corruption in the White House -- or are at best staying silent about it. We cannot afford to go on like this. We need a fundamentally new and different approach to fix our broken system and deliver solutions for this country. We need members of Congress to stop putting party over country.

And we need a president who embraces the urgency of the moment and is free of the broken politics that got us here. I'm asking for your support because we need to meet this moment with fresh and bold solutions that emerge from outside Washington -- solutions that unite us around our shared values and that bring everyone to the table.

I believe that together, we can change the channel away from this horror show and rise to meet this moment. If you agree, please consider making a donation right now. How many Iowans we reach between now and the caucuses depends on the donations that come in. [[link removed]]

Thank you for everything.
