Hi John,

We’re into the second day of National Public Health Week [ [link removed] ] ! Here’s what you need to know about today’s events:
 • Today’s daily theme is violence prevention. Violence affects our individual physical, mental and emotional well-being, and our communities too. That’s why effective, culturally specific interventions are crucial to making a difference. Learn more about what can be done with our fact sheet (in English [ [link removed] ] and Spanish [ [link removed] ] ) and post a social media graphic [ [link removed] ] .
 • Student Day is also today! Our speed mentoring event is full but be sure to join us for our early-career professionals panel at 5:30 p.m. ET. RSVP [ [link removed] ] for the link.
 • Check out APHA’s new book, The Picture of Health [ [link removed] ] , an essential resource for understanding the importance of visuals in public health storytelling. Get 15% off when you use the code NPHWBooks2023 at checkout!

Remember to register for APHA-hosted events [ [link removed] ] the rest of the week and check out the events [ [link removed] ] happening in your local and virtual communities today.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow when we focus on reproductive and sexual health.

In solidarity,

The NPHW Team
