As I begin another busy week in the district, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:

Shrink Washington, Grow America
On Thursday, I joined my friend and colleague Andy Biggs, and other members of the Freedom Caucus, to lay out our plan to cut reckless federal spending, get Washington out of the way and radically re-empower the American people.

Democrats must stop draining affordable energy!
On Tuesday, I urged Congress to stop messing with Americans’ day-to-day life. Out-of-touch democrats are relentlessly attacking access to affordable and reliable energy despite repeated solar and wind power failures. Washington must end the burdensome regulations that are preventing American men and women from living their lives.

Austin soldier among Black Hawk helicopter crash in Kentucky
Last week, a soldier from Austin was among the 9 killed in the tragic Black Hawk helicopter crash at Fort Campbell. Our team is praying for the 101st Airborne Division. God bless them and their families.

The 20 | Speaker Race Documentary
Earlier this year, 19 other Republicans and I challenged the Washington establishment. The fight was to fix an institutionally broken House of Representatives; of course, the media got it all wrong. On April 4th, the truth comes out. The Daily Signal will release a documentary that shares an inside look into the 118th Congress’ speaker’s race.

Assessing the Chinese communist threat
On April 20th, I will be joining Heritage’s two-day Leadership Summit in Washington, DC. I will be participating on a panel examining the Chinese Communist Party’s threat to our country. For more information on the event, please visit here. 

Passport Resources
The State Department is encouraging passport applications and renewals during the off-peak travel season in fall or winter when demand is lower, and processing is faster. Please remember to check your passport expiration date and keep in mind some countries require your passport to be valid for six months after your visit. You can find information on how to apply or renew your passport here.
