Families to step back in time and experience camp life

Thursday, April 20

10am to 3.30pm

Children’s Day at Bonegilla [[link removed]] will feature family friendly activities and workshops to reflect the creative pursuits of thousands of new arrivals who came through the camp.

Make a light catcher and clay pinch pot Churn your own butter with a modern twist Enjoy a BYO picnic lunch in the historic grounds Join a guided tour and hear shared stories of migrants who lived here Grab your explorer’s pack from the Welcome Centre to discover more stories

Workshop times

Morning - Make your own light catcher and pinch pot

10am to 11am and

11am to 12pm

Afternoon - Make your own mini butter

1.30pm to 2pm and

2.30pm to 3pm

Costs

Entry - adults $5, concession $4, child 16 years and under free

Workshop - child $9

Optional guided tour - adults $12, concession $10, child $9

Delicious treats and curated music on the menu for a delightful Mother's Day

Sunday, May 14

2pm to 4pm

Bonegilla Migrant Experience invites you to a Mother’s Day High Tea [[link removed]] with a selection of delicious treats, tea and coffee at our function space overlooking the historic grounds of Block 19.

After tea with family and friends, make your way around the site on a self-guided tour accompanied by the sound of live music. Be swept away by the natural acoustics of the buildings as you hear a specially curated selection of music inspired by the true shared stories of migrants and refugees.

This moving program will be highlighted by a curated short film presenting archival footage and images of the original camp and its residents.

Choose your experience:

Option 1

High tea, seated inside + glass of sparkling wine on arrival + self-guided music tour + admission to site.

$45 per person

Option 2

High tea, seated outside + self-guided music tour + admission to site.

Note: Alcohol will not be served at outside tables.

$35 per person

Option 3

Self-guided music tour only + admission to site.

$9 per person
