Hi John,
I write on behalf of our Chair Rick Hoye.
Tonight in Tallahassee, Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried and Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book were arrested for peacefully protesting a ban on reproductive healthcare in Florida, including the passage of SB 300, which bans most abortions after six weeks. Broward Democrats have stood against SB 300 and the Florida House companion bill, HB 7.
The Broward Democratic Party fully supports the actions of Chairwoman Fried and Senator Book. We are committed to doing everything in our power to stand up for the rights of Floridians, including peaceful protests.
We must stand together—not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Floridians—and fight against the erosion of our freedoms under Gov. DeSantis.
The Florida Legislature and Gov. DeSantis are attacking women and families, stripping away their rights and bodily autonomy. Broward Democrats will not back down. Here are 3 action steps you can take now [[link removed]] .
