John – the surge in mass shootings we've seen nationwide has made one thing painfully clear: We must take immediate action toward ending our gun violence epidemic. 

That’s why I am fighting in the Senate to close loopholes and require background checks on unlicensed firearm sales, including those made online or at gun shows, keeping guns out of dangerous hands and saving lives. This is just common sense.

Although more than 90% of Americans support comprehensive background checks, current federal law does not require unlicensed sellers to conduct them before transferring a firearm. But I know we can change that.

Expanding background checks would be a critical step forward in combating the senseless gun violence that has devastated families and communities across Nevada and the country. This campaign is about fighting for what matters to Nevadans, and I want your input. I believe we need meaningful progress on gun safety reform, but I want to know that you're with me, John.
