Dear Friend,
Have you been hearing about or confused by the so-called “Parents Bill of
Rights”? Sounds like a win for parents across the country, right? No! It
is actually the legal basis for censorship, bullying, and book bans, and
for division based on race, sexual orientation, religious minorities, and
gender identity.
[ [link removed] ]This week on Thursday, April 6, at 7:30pm EST / 4:30pm PST, we’re
debunking the "Parents Bill of Rights" and the harm it would actually
cause children and families. Can you join this important #KeepMarching
virtual call?
MomsRising’s own Nina Perez, National Director of Early Learning, and
Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner, MomsRising’s Executive Director / CEO &
Co-Founder, have been at the forefront of fighting this bill on-the-ground
and in Congress. Nina and Kristin will be leading this important meeting,
giving you the insights, information, and resources you need to protect
your community and our country.
Together we need to expose what the "Parents Bill of Rights" really is
about, and raise our voices against it! A crucial part of this is learning
the facts, so we can help moms and families in our communities understand
what is going on.

In states like Florida, where versions of this bill and others have
already become law, we've seen tremendous harmful impacts from these
policies, such as:
1. Diverse books like the biographies of Harriet Tubman and Celia Cruz
removed from school classrooms in mass book bans;
2. LGBTQ+ clubs and supports removed from schools;
3. Recent attempts to ban sexual health education, including banning
conversations about menstruation.
These are just a few outcomes happening at the state and local levels from
Parents-Bill-of-Rights-type policies, and it is not the future we want for
our kids. We want children to learn about the history and obstacles faced
and overcome by members of our Black, Brown, AAPI, Native American,
immigrant, religious-minority, LGBTQIA+, and other communities. We want
our students to be able to access unbiased health information and feel
safe and included at school.
Friend, we know we’re the real majority with the solutions that
put families first and help our economy. [ [link removed] ]It’s why you need to join our
#KeepMarching virtual call next week, Thursday April 6 at 7:30pm EST /
4:30pm PST. We also know we need to get the right information exposing the
truth about the "Parents Bill of Rights" to as many people as possible.
Will you help by forwarding this RSVP link to 5 friends, so they can join
the call
too? [ [link removed] ][link removed]
Hope to see you there! Together, we'll #KeepMarching and never stop
fighting for the changes our families and communities need.
