Breaking news: The Senate Elections Committee included Ranked Choice Voting in the elections omnibus bill (SF 1636) and passed the bill out of committee this afternoon. While the bill was amended today in some ways we support and in some ways we do not, we are excited that Ranked Choice Voting continues to advance. As the bill moves forward in the legislative process, we will have the opportunity to work with our legislative supporters to amend the bill, fix any problems, and continue to improve it.
The legislature goes on break starting tomorrow. We will continue to share information about the benefits of RCV with legislators and will follow up with you after the break to let you know next steps.
Thank you so much for your support in helping us to advance RCV legislation at the Capitol. The legislative process requires persistence, and we could not do this work without you. Sincerely,
