Friend --

My team has sent a fair number of fundraising emails recently, so I thought it was important to let you know why these messages are so important to our campaign.

Yesterday morning, David Valadao announced his largest quarterly fundraising haul of the election cycle. He raised $630,000 in the last three months of 2019. That's a big deal, and there's a very good chance he had a ton of help from corporate PACs in Washington.

On thing is clear: we've got a target on our backs, so we set a stretch goal of getting 1,500 donations before we close the books on our end-of-month deadline.

We may not out-raise Valadao, but we can keep pace with the flood of special interest money lined up behind him. And we're counting on folks like you to support our people-powered campaign:

Today, I'm asking you to make your very first contribution to help us hit our goal. We need all hands on deck, so even if you can only give $3, please do so today. Every bit helps.

Despite being written off by the pundits, and being outspent by super PACs, we defeated David Valadao in 2018 with a surge of grassroots support. But we're not going to catch David Valadao off-guard again. In fact, he's going to have even more cash to go around this time.

It's so important that we send a message that our grassroots team is prepared to go toe-to-toe with the special interests lined up behind him.

Chip in $3 as a way to show that we're as energized as ever to defend our win and keep CA-21 blue. >> [link removed]

All my very best,

TJ Cox
