It has been 962 days since Betsy DeVos weakened Title IX protections for student survivors.

Hi John,

962 days.

It’s been 962 days since Betsy DeVos’s Title IX rule went into effect, uprooting decades of policy and significantly weakening civil rights protections for student survivors.

The DeVos Title IX rule pushes schools to ignore many reports of sexual harassment and requires student survivors to undergo uniquely burdensome procedures when their schools investigate their sexual harassment complaints. It’s time for the Biden-Harris administration to reverse this harmful rule.

Now we have just over four months left before the new school year starts—and students who experience sexual harassment still do not have needed Title IX protections in place to ensure their safety.

Tell Biden: Any Further Delay on Title IX is Unacceptable.

Restore civil rights protections for ALL students now.

TAKE ACTION

For the past two and a half years, student survivors have been devastatingly impacted by the DeVos Title IX rule. Many students who suffered sexual harassment have had their Title IX complaints dismissed by their schools or have been subjected to uniquely unfair, burdensome, and retraumatizing investigation procedures that are not required for any other type of student or staff misconduct.

For this year’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), we are calling on you to demand the Biden-Harris administration finalize and publish a new Title IX rule as soon as possible. Student survivors can’t wait to have their basic civil rights and protections upheld.

The president has repeatedly promised to address these harms. Survivors of sexual violence are depending on the administration to keep this promise.

John, students cannot afford to wait any longer. Tell President Biden to finalize Title IX now!

In solidarity,
