Dear John,

Millions of people are at risk of losing access to healthcare if House Republicans succeed in making major cuts (up to $2 trillion!) to Medicaid. It leaves me asking – what can we all do to stop it?

Making sure people understand what it means to make cuts to Medicaid is key if we want to protect health care for millions of people in the U.S. Can you take a second to share our latest #MedicaidMonday video with your family and friends?

Screenshot shows Nicole Jorwic speaking about Medicaid Monday. Her face is imposed over a background showing an article about the recent federal court decision that put a stay on preventative care services.

Every Monday for the past month, I’ve been sharing videos on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter about the importance of Medicaid on social media so people can really understand the impact of this federal care program and how it supports older adults and disabled people (including children), family caregivers and direct care workers.

If there are cuts to Medicaid, nearly eight million older adults, disabled people and caregivers would have their care put at risk – and may even lose their health coverage. It doesn’t have to be this way: We don’t have to put the well-being of millions of people at risk to settle the debt ceiling debate. It’s a Republican narrative that’s just plain untrue, especially at a time when millionaires and billionaires don’t pay their fair share.

And now, our care is even more at risk, as a recent federal court decision has struck down the requirement for access to preventative health care services. More details on that in my latest #MedicaidMonday video.

This month marks Medicaid Awareness Month and it’s more important than ever that we come together to show our support. If we want our Congress members to prioritize protecting Medicaid – not cutting it – we need as many people with us as possible. By sharing our #MedicaidMonday video, you can help bring your own friends and families into the fold as we build power and momentum for our care agenda.

John, please take a second to share the latest #MedicaidMonday video on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Thank you for everything you do to show care matters,
