Hi John,

It’s appalling! Prime Minister Rishi Sunak spent over £500,000 of taxpayers money on private jet hire in just two weeks. [1]

It’s shameful reading, but the bigger issue is this, nobody should be using private jets! The UK needs to take its commitment to reducing carbon emissions seriously and it’s up to us to demand that they ban private jets and protect our planet. Can you quickly add your name to this petition calling on the Prime Minister to act?

Rishi Sunak’s shocking flying habits are just the tip of the iceberg. More private jets took off from the UK than any other country in Europe in 2022 - with one leaving every six minutes. [2]

These jets emit massive amounts of carbon and are only available to the ultra-wealthy, who are responsible for half of the world's aviation emissions.

The emissions caused by private aviation in Europe last year alone, equals the average yearly CO2 emissions of 3.3 million people living in Africa – showing the blatant inequality of these luxury emissions. [3] It's unacceptable that a small percentage of people can contribute so much to the climate crisis, while the rest of us bear the consequences.

This needs to stop. Can you demand that the UK government bans private jets and takes action to reduce emissions from the aviation industry?

Together, we can create a more equitable and sustainable future for everyone. Thanks for all that you do
