MONDAY E'NEWS Spring Board Meeting Summary The MCRGO Board of Directors meet on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at its regular quarterly Board meeting. The meeting summary follows. 12,006 current members as of 3.23.23, a +1.96% increase since December 2, 2022. Instructor Portal & Website Redevelopment has been tabled until the June Board meeting. The MCRGO AR-15 Basics Course is now active with several upcoming instructor workshops scheduled. Outdoorama performance in February 2023 was on par with recent years. Ultimate Sports Show performance in March 2023 was significantly improved over recent years. MCRGO will remain at both shows in 2024. The Fall Firearms Festival 2023 will be at Kickin's Brass in Jackson on Saturday, September 23. 1 of 10 CPL Instructor young adult scholarships has been awarded. The Executive Director is to remind Instructors and Master Instructors about the program. MCRGO will expand its social media to Twitter. The Board will not fill its two vacancies by appointment. The South Central seat vacancy will be filled through its regular election in Summer 2023. The South West seat may be filled through a special election to a partial term on the regular election ballot if permitted by the Bylaws. Albert Lallinger is appointed a CPL Master Instructor for the South West Region for a partial term expiring in September 2024. Stephen Alexander is appointed a CPL Master Instructor for the South West Region for a partial term expiring in September 2024. MCRGO has funded three legislative CPLs over the past quarter. MCRGO social media marketing is to be extended to late June at an additional appropriation of $2,000. MCRGO appropriates $1,000 to Armed Women of America for an upcoming event. MCRGO opposes SB 22 (Airport GFZ) MCRGO takes no position on House Bills 4088-4100 (School Safety) MCRGO tabled a position on House Bills 4124-4125 (Hospital Trigger Lock program) All other positions on current legislation determined provisionally by the Executive Director are now official. MCRGO has expanded its social media reach to Twitter. The organization can be found @MCRGO_Michigan. Twitter has become an increasingly popular venue for self defense organizations since the platform's censorship has abated in recent months. MCRGO will remain on Facebook and Instagram.
