Dear John,

This week (Monday 3 – Friday 7 April) is ‘Little by Little’ week on the fundraising platform Global Giving ( [link removed] ).

Little by Little is a 5-day period when any donation you make, up to £40 ($50USD), will be 50% matched by Global Giving. That means for every £10 you donate, Born Free will receive an extra £5 – at no cost to you, or us!

We wanted to let you know about this match-funding opportunity, and how any donation you make during this time would make a difference to Born Free and help our fight to end wildlife conflict.

Save Africa's Giants

Elephants and giraffes in Africa are under threat. Majestic elephants poached for ivory, gentle giraffes killed for meat and skins: Africa's giant herbivores need our help.

Across Africa, elephants are slaughtered in their thousands every year. Close-knit elephant families decimated, leaving traumatised family and orphaned young. Giraffes also suffer from the indiscriminate wire snares that can cause agony and even death. If we don't act now, it'll be too late.

By donating to our ‘Save Africa’s Giants’ project on Global Giving, you will be helping us fund solutions to wildlife conflict, such as essential giraffe monitoring patrols, creating protection for farmers from elephant crop raiding, and setting camera traps to monitor movement of wildlife and illegal human activity.

Ethiopian Wolves - the World's Rarest Canid

With their distinctive red coat, long legs and bushy tail, the Ethiopian wolf is the world's rarest canid - the family of wolves, coyotes, foxes and domestic dogs.

Ethiopian wolves are only found in the highlands of Ethiopia and are Africa's most threatened carnivore. With fewer than 500 Ethiopian wolves left in the world, every single one counts!

Born Free supports the vital work of the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme (EWCP), the only conservation initiative focusing on protecting them.

With your support, we can fund vital conservation work including training local Ethiopians to carry out fieldwork and research, educating local villages on wolf conservation, and vaccinating local dogs against rabies.

Protect India's Tigers & Promote Coexistence

Tigers are on the brink of extinction after devastating declines due to poaching and habitat loss – a century ago there were an estimated 100,000 tigers across Asia, but numbers have since dropped by 96% to fewer than 4,000.

As their habitat is destroyed by human development, tigers struggle to find food and target livestock; people venture into forests to gather wood or graze their livestock, and deadly conflict occurs.

The only way to protect tigers is by promoting co-existence. Born Free is working with Indian NGOs in the Satpuda landscape to find simple, sustainable solutions to human-wildlife conflict, such as Tiger Ambassadors to educate communities how to live safely alongside tigers, and funding alternative fuel sources for local people so they don’t have to rely on firewood from the forests.

GIVE A GIFT TO PROTECT TIGERS ( [link removed] )

To ensure your donation goes even further, please donate to any of our Global Giving projects before 23.59 on Friday 7 April.

Thank you for your support,

From, the Born Free team
