This is Bradley Whitford. I’m an actor and you might know me as the character Commander Lawrence in The Handmaid’s Tale. Some of you might know a little bit about the dystopian world depicted in that show, but I’m writing to you about the very real stakes for so many women and marginalized communities in Wisconsin if we don’t act on this historic opportunity to elect Judge Janet Protasiewicz and rebalance our state Supreme Court this Tuesday.

John, a criminal abortion ban from 1849 has been in place in Wisconsin ever since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Governor Tony Evers has been fighting tooth and nail for reproductive freedom in the state, but with gerrymandered maps drawn in the GOP’s favor, things are dire in Wisconsin.

Here’s the good news though: the team at WisDems has a historic opportunity to rebalance the state Supreme Court in their fast-approaching April election - which could bring them one critical step closer to fair maps and access to reproductive health access in Wisconsin. Voters are casting their ballots in this election right now, and the WisDems need your help ahead of Tuesday’s election. Can you answer my call and split $15 between the WisDems and the Democratic Party of Georgia to support WisDems and progressives across the country like Judge Janet Protasiewicz?

Abortion and reproductive health care are critical. It's a freedom that came after centuries of forced pregnancies and sterilization, high mortality rates, and countless acts of violence.

Right now, Wisconsin is central in the conversation to fortify abortion rights. We can either elect pro-democracy, pro-choice leaders who fight like hell to protect reproductive freedom, or far-right leaders who will enforce an archaic abortion ban as the law of the land.

We need to invest in Wisconsin like our rights depend on it — because frankly, they do.
