Greetings Michigan Democrats!
The past month has been as eventful as the last as Michigan Democrats continue to show why we have worked so relentlessly to flip the House and Senate and elect our candidates up and down the ballot. We have also opened our Delegate Selection Plan up to public comment. If you are interested in the plan, you may review it HERE and share your thoughts with us at [email protected].
Now, our state is showing the nation what happens when you trust Democrats to lead. Together, we have been the first state in over 60 years to roll back so called “Right to Work” laws, we have passed historic legislation to protect LGBTQ+ Michiganders and women’s rights, and after tragedy struck we took action to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people and protect our schools, churches, and neighborhoods.
The Michigan GOP has gone even further down the drain. In the past month alone, the party has promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, compared commonsense gun safety laws to the Holocaust, and compared abortion to murder.
Let me be clear: this hate is unacceptable coming from anybody, but it is even more concerning when it is said by one of our major political parties. We can’t be afraid to call out this hate, and we must encourage everybody from across the political spectrum to join us in condemning their rhetoric.
Finally, this week Donald Trump was indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney. The move made clear that nobody is above the law, and we hope for a fair and impartial process that delivers justice. But no matter what happens, the Michigan Democratic Party will stay laser focused on holding Republicans up and down the ballot accountable for their extremist agenda to slash Social Security and Medicare, ban abortions, and leave working families behind. We hope you’ll join us in that message.
Stay safe and healthy!
