John — We’re heading toward a huge fight in the coming weeks.

Rather than honor the obligations of the U.S. government, Republicans want to gamble on cratering the U.S. and world economies.

The consequences of not raising the debt limit will be disastrous. Millions of Americans — senior citizens, veterans, military personnel — would have their benefits disrupted if Congress doesn’t act. Families would also see costs driven up for everyday items.

But Republicans don’t seem to care.

The GOP-controlled House is using the debt ceiling as a bargaining chip to advance their extremist agenda — including talks to gut Social Security and Medicare.

We cannot let Republicans play politics with Americans’ hard-earned money. We must stand up to their threats and vote them out.
