Rainforest destruction in your shampoo

From Head & Shoulders to Crest, Procter & Gamble’s products are made with megatonnes of palm oil linked to deforestation and land grabs.

But together we can make P&G’s biggest investor meeting all about deforestation and force the company to clean up its supply chain.

John,

Each year, Procter & Gamble buys more than 600,000 *megatonnes* of palm oil to make everything from shampoo to toothpaste – and too much of it is still grown on bulldozed rainforest and stolen Indigenous land, wreaking havoc on lives and livelihoods.

For years P&G’s leadership has ignored calls to end deforestation, even when they came from its founders’ descendants. But the clock is ticking, and P&G won’t be able to ignore us any longer if we all come together as consumers, shareholders, workers and investors. Together, we can make P&G’s upcoming annual meeting all about its nasty deforestation problem!

If we can make this massive with your help, John, we can push this consumer giant to change how it sources its megatonnes of palm oil – which will, in turn, help clean up the entire dirty palm oil industry until every shampoo, toothpaste, and detergent is 100% deforestation-free.

Add your name to tell P&G: No more deforestation!

Like its peers, P&G has adopted policies requiring no deforestation, no peat destruction, no worker exploitation for its palm oil sourcing. The problem is that it lacks monitoring and implementation down to the last piece of the supply chain of *all* forest-risk commodities. In other words, it’s useless.

Because despite well-meant policies and lip service, there are still hundreds of acres of oil palm trees grown on bulldozed rainforest soil – and too many Indigenous communities, exploited workers, and endangered species are paying the price of P&G’s recklessness.

If we join forces with all our partners and ramp up the pressure now, we can go BIG so P&G can’t ignore us any longer. Once a big buyer like P&G changes how it sources its palm oil, other big players won’t have a choice but to follow the example and rid their supply chains of forest destruction. Add your name now as the first step to eliminate palm oil deforestation for good!

Tell P&G: Solve your big deforestation problem now!

Our community has repeatedly shown how much it cares for our forests and those who depend on them -- and how that “care” can lead to action to make real change happen. From PepsiCo to Starbucks, big corporations have given in to put people and the planet over their profits. It’s time we come together and do it again.
