We all waited to see if Manhattan's District Attorney would indict President Trump on a charge that other jurisdictions have already dismissed. Whether you’re a Republican or Democrat, wielding the power of the justice system against political opponents is unacceptable. Lady Justice is blindfolded because the application of the law is neutral and unbiased. I applaud Speaker McCarthy’s direction to investigate if federal funds are being used for “politically motivated prosecutions.”
When Republicans made our Commitment to America, we swore to uphold and defend the rights of parents over their children’s education. I am proud to say we are following through. House Republicans passed the Parents Bill of Rights Act, which enshrines key protections for parents such as the right to review curriculum and inspect reading materials. Parents know what's best for their children. That’s why they should be involved, ensuring their education aligns with their family values and goals.
While it didn’t make the final bill, I supported Congressman Massie’s amendment on the matter that would abolish the Department of Education. This would enable states and local communities to reclaim authority over education policy and funding since the Constitution does not empower the federal government to oversee education. The Founding Fathers intended education to be a local matter. They believed that communities should have the power to shape education according to their unique values, rather than the federal government.
House Republicans rebuked President Biden's failed energy agenda by advancing our counter proposal that slashes regulations and unleashes untapped energy potential. With Democrats aiming to kill our bill in the Senate, it serves as a clear juxtaposition about where they stand on American energy. They’d rather burden our producers with onerous regulations, stand with China over our energy workers, and stunt production. Unleashing American energy will not only power our nation but also fuel our economy and return us to energy independence.
