You’re probably getting a lot of emails about Donald Trump’s indictment in New York… some of them are from us – because it IS important! But I wanted to reach out personally to tell you something else that is important about Donald Trump. Something you probably haven’t seen in your inbox yet:

Donald Trump is disqualified from serving as president

Not because of Thursday’s criminal indictment – there’s nothing in the Constitution saying indictment or felony conviction bars a person from running for office or serving as president – but because he incited the January 6th insurrection.

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, also known as the Disqualification Clause, explicitly bars any person from holding federal or state office who took an “oath… to support the Constitution of the United States” as a federal officer and then “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” or gave “aid or comfort” to insurrectionists.

Trump swore an oath to the Constitution. And he broke that oath by inciting an insurrection.

When the time comes, CREW can – and will – use the Disqualification Clause to stop Trump from serving as president ever again.

But it’s not going to be an easy fight. It’s going to take a lot of hard work, time, and money to make it happen.
