Thank you for joining us at the Go Local conference!

It was heartening to have so many engaged citizens attend from almost every level of local government, from precinct delegates to school boards to city and county commissions—from 20 different counties! Many were newly elected. Some want to get elected. All of them want to make a positive difference in their communities and churches.

Here's what attendees said about Go Local:

"The level of knowledge and awareness made available to us was beyond our expectations. The experience was so valuable and we feel more enabled because of it." — David L, Precinct Delegate

"The Go Local conference brought together three powerful and experienced organizations who combined practical experiences with deep insight and wisdom." — Robert H, City Commissioner

"Worth the time! The speakers were very knowledgeable and insightful." — Craig S, Precinct Delegate

"This seminar was so useful to encourage us in a network of likeminded individuals to present Christ’s love in the public forum/politics, to advance His kingdom in our time of history." — Rose H, Precinct Delegate

Due to the positive response, we're taking this conference on the road!

ACTION ALERT:

Michigan Senate Passed Bill to Require Employers to Pay for Elective Abortions

In just one day the Senate fast-tracked Senate Bill 147 through committee and passage on the Senate floor. This bill will require employers to provide insurance coverage for elective abortions as part of their employee benefit plans, violating constitutionally protected rights of conscience for individuals, employers and faith-based institutions.

The bill would apply to all employers in the state with one or more employees who do not have self-insured ERISA plans. Under Roe, abortions were only covered when medically necessary to save the life of the mother. This bill would break that precedent. Additionally, if an employer is providing benefits for pregnancy and childbirth, this would also mandate insurance coverage or paid medical leave for elective abortions. Click here to read more.

This is another example of how Proposal 3 is being used to go far beyond what was permissible under Roe. Let your objections be known! Your state representatives should oppose this legislation—there is time to let them know over spring break! Just send an email expressing your opposition to this over-reach of government and its clear violation of employer’s religious conscience.

Thank You for Making Your Voice Heard!

Thank you for submitting so many comments requesting the Biden administration's Department of Education NOT remove a key 2020 policy protecting student groups from being denied grants because of their religious beliefs.

Attorneys general and legislators are speaking out all across the country against this attempt to weaken protections for religious liberty. Click here for details.

We also greatly appreciate that Michigan Congressman Tim Walberg, along with two Senate sponsors, has introduced the Equal Campus Access Act of 2023 to ensure that any universities or colleges that discriminate against student organizations because of those groups' "religious beliefs, practices, speech, leadership standards, or standards of conduct" will be barred from receiving taxpayer dollars.
