Folks, I decided to run for Congress in 2017 because I refused to sit on the sidelines while Donald Trump’s radical agenda went unchecked.

During a time when Republicans controlled the House, Senate, and Presidency, I stepped up, flipped a red seat blue, and became the first woman to represent Michigan’s 11th district.

Now, Trump just became the first former president to be indicted. After allegedly paying hush money to influence the 2016 election, he’s finally facing criminal charges for one of his many wrongdoings.

Trump’s indictment proves what we’ve always known to be true: He is a dangerous threat to our country, and was never fit to serve as President of the United States.

But this indictment won’t stop him or his right-wing enablers from winning elections.

When I swore an oath in Congress, I made a promise to protect Michigan and our democracy. That’s why I voted to impeach Trump in 2021 after the January 6th insurrection, and why I’ll do everything in my power to hold him and radical Republicans accountable.
