John,
I am writing to ask for your support for our friend and community member Neil Makhija, who is running for Commissioner of Montgomery County, PA, a massively important role recently held by PA Governor Josh Shapiro. Neil is by far the most qualified candidate, and his race is critical because he will oversee elections in 2024 for Pennsylvania’s most important county.
I will be co-hosting a virtual event with Neil on April 19 at 6:00pm EST, and would be honored if you are able to join us: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/neil-makhija-zoom
Neil, as you may know, has served as the Executive Director of Indian American Impact, and he has helped transform IMPACT into a national force recognized last month on the front page of the New York Times.
Neil has led the charge to elect dozens of Indian Americans around the country, as well as in building support to confirm historic judges and other major federal appointments.
If he wins the race for Montgomery County Commissioner, Neil would represent the largest constituency of any independently-elected Indian American in the United States.
With over 865,000 people (at 3x the population of Pittsburgh), Montgomery County has become PA's most important county for Democratic voter turnout. It is also in the third most expensive media market in the country-which is why we need your help. As Commissioner, Neil would be in charge of a $500M budget, 3,000 employees, and overseeing elections and the entire mail-in ballot process in 2024.
I am proud to share that Neil has the support of Representatives Raja Krishnamoorthi, Ro Khanna, Pramila Jayapal, Shri Thanedar, Ami Bera, and myself, as well as many more state and local elected officials around the country.
Neil is by far the most qualified candidate in this race. And with the election in under 50 days, your support will be critical in helping to put Neil over the top. There are no contribution limits for this race.
You may RSVP for the virtual reception with Neil, or chip in to support his campaign by clicking here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/neil-makhija-zoom
All the best,
Arvind
