The United States Senate is in serious danger of becoming a joke.

And not the funny kind.

We now know, from explosive reporting by The New York Times earlier this week, that John Bolton himself — Donald Trump’s handpicked former national security advisor — exposes the utter phoniness of Trump’s impeachment defense in his upcoming book.

Bolton reveals that Trump instructed him to freeze nearly $400 million in aid to Ukraine until officials there announced investigations into Joe Biden, the Democratic National Committee and others.

It is as plain as the nose on Mitch McConnell’s face:

If the Senate doesn’t allow testimony from John Bolton, then this impeachment trial will be seen as — and will in fact be — nothing more than a sham and a cover-up.

Tell the Senate: John Bolton must be allowed to testify in Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.
