Join CND at XR's 'The Big One'
On Thursday, the UK government unveiled its 1000-page net zero and energy strategy: including a commitment to nuclear power and a reliance on untested carbon capture technologies. Dubbed “half-baked” and “half-hearted” by critics, the plan also doesn't outline how Britain will move away from new oil and gas developments or achieve its legally binding climate targets.
The announcement comes just three weeks out from XR's 'The Big One' event around the Houses of Parliament in London. Running from Friday 21 April until Monday 24 April, XR and supporting organisations will be holding protests, marches, workshops, teach-ins, and cultural events throughout the weekend.
As part of the XR Peace collective, CND is calling on supporters to join us in London on these days to speak out against Britain's nuclear weapons and for the government to enact policies that benefit people and planet.
