Support SHARK's Work Fighting for Animals!
March 31, 2023

Hello Friends,

WE GOT A BUSY WEEKEND AHEAD AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Kentucky -

We have been made aware that Charlie's Pit will be having a cockfight tomorrow - Saturday, April 1st! No, this is not an April Fools' Day joke.

This is the same location where SHARK has documented numerous other cockfights and this must be stopped!

Please share this alert encouraging everyone to call.

Please call KSP Captain Randal Surber and Public Affairs Officer: Trooper Michael Coleman at:
Post 9 - 606-433-7711 and

Kentucky State Police Headquarters at: 502-782-1800

Urge them to shut this cockfight down!

Charlie's Pit
355 Lower Wolf Branch Rd, Tomahawk, KY 41262

Coordinates: 37.860876, -82.589711

Mississippi -

Here is a SHARK drone image of the Baughman pit from January 29, 2023. You may recall that this was one of three pits we exposed in Lee County in January.

Baughman Pit
1113 Co Rd 506, Shannon, MS 38868

Coordinates: 34.104754, -88.767543
The pit itself is a small building way in the back surrounded by trees.

Sheriff Johnson will, of course, claim he has nothing to do with allowing cockfights in Lee County, but his refusal to initially shut down those same pits earlier prove otherwise. We had to expose the pits multiple times, and SHARK held a joint press conference with Animal Wellness Action to create enough pressure on Sheriff Johnson to make the criminal animal cruelty stop.

Now, Johnson apparently believes that enough time has passed, and he errantly believes SHARK has moved on. Please help us show Sheriff Johnson that SHARK will never forget Lee County, and we will know if the fight at the Baughman pit happens this Sunday.

Please Call Sheriff Johnson
Lee County Sheriff's Dept
510 Commerce St, Tupelo, MS 38804
(662) 841-9040

We can't give up now! We need to keep the calls coming and save these animals from a cruel death.

We will keep you updated on this important issue. We thank you for your help for the victims of cockfighting. YOU ARE SAVING LIVES!

Please let us know what responses you get.

Traveling is expensive. Funds are needed to keep locating and shutting down cockfights, in addition to all of our other work for the animals. We really can't help the animals without you! Please donate here.

An uplifting note to help keep us all going during these tough times, PERSISTENCE DOES WORK!

As we all know, Lolita is a lonely orca who was captured when she was four years old in a bloody roundup off Puget Sound, Washington in 1970. After 52 miserable years of captivity, living in a small concrete box with substandard water, Lolita will be returned to her native waters and will be transitioned to join her family, including her 95 year old mother!

Celebrate people working together to end animal suffering!
