Dear John,

Black and brown communities are being ravished by gun violence every day while many policy makers turn a blind eye.

Today, that changes.

We are joining with community-led policy makers from across the country to launch Policymakers for Peace, a nonpartisan national network of state and local policy makers of color coming together to change the conversation on gun violence prevention.

We know not everyone is (or wants to be) a policy maker. But, we also know that many of the policy makers who are closest to the pain of everyday gun violence can make the changes we seek to bring peace to our communities.

We need your help.

Will you join the Community Peacemaker Network to support making policy changes on all levels of government?

When it comes to putting an end to gun violence -- especially in frequently-forgotten communities of color -- we know we must attack the issue from all angles. Today, Policymakers around the country are taking the pledge to call out gun violence as a public health epidemic and to start investing in communities hardest hit by gun violence -- not criminalizing them.

And, we are asking you to join us.

It is time to focus on solutions that effectively tackle the root causes by listening to the voices of those most affected by gun violence.

In solidarity,
The Community Justice Action Fund
