** Pelosi Blasted for Saying Trump Has a Right to Prove Innocence
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
Rep. Nancy Pelosi ([link removed]) (D-CA) released a statement Thursday night ([link removed]) commenting on the indictment of former President Trump – a statement that has raised eyebrows due to its blatant inaccuracy on the rule of law in the United States.
“The Grand Jury has acted upon the facts and the law,” ([link removed]) Pelosi wrote. “No one is above the law, and everyone has the right to a trial to prove innocence. Hopefully, the former President will peacefully respect the system, which grants him that right.”
Um, you would think that a longtime politico would be aware that a cardinal principal of the justice system in the United States is that any person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro tweeted, “Uh it’s ‘innocent until proven guilty’ not opportunity to ‘prove innocence.’”
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani wrote, “Wrong. So obviously wrong. Most Middle Schoolers know this – at least they used to, when civics and the Constitution was respected in schools. You’re innocent until proven guilty.”
“The last time Americans had to ‘prove their innocence,’ we were governed by the British,” Comedian Tim Young tweeted.
Fox News host Mark Levin wrote, “Prove innocent? It’s innocent until proven guilty, moron. Or at least it used to be.” He slammed the former speaker of the House as “Stalinist Pelosi.”
Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, wrote, “Pelosi confirms malicious political prosecution by suggesting Trump is guilty until proven innocent!”
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., took a swipe at the former speaker too. “The right to ‘prove innocence?’ This is America, not Stalinist Russia.”

** Video of Pelosi Saying on January 6, 2021, That She Would Like to Physically “Punch … Out” President Trump & Go to Jail As a Consequence
------------------------------------------------------------
On October 13, 2022, CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 aired ([link removed]) never-before-seen video footage ([link removed]) that had been filmed by Nancy Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. in that footage, the House Speaker stated that if President Trump were to come to the Capitol that day, she would physically assault him and would be glad to serve time in jail as a consequence. (During his speech earlier that day at the Ellipse, Trump had told a large crowd of his supporters: “And after this, we’re going walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We’re going walk down to the Capitol.”) A staff member told Pelosi, “The Secret Service said they have dissuaded him from coming to Capitol Hill. They told him they don’t have the resources to protect him here. So at the moment, he is not coming, but that
could change.” An enraged Pelosi responded: “I hope he comes. I want to punch him out…. I’ve been waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I want to punch him out, and I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy.” Pelosi also stated: “Tell him [Trump] if he comes here, we’re going to the White House.”
