I’m glad I could catch you before we break for the weekend. I know we’ve been in touch quite a bit this week, so I’ll get right to the point.
Tonight at midnight is my first legal fundraising deadline as a member of Congress. After this deadline, we’ll submit our fundraising numbers to the FEC and show potential 2024 opponents what our campaign is made of.
As it stands, we’re about $3,210 short of our $50,000 goal. That means with just a few more grassroots contributions, we’ll be able to show real strength on this report.

Every day I spend in Congress is a reminder of just how critical it is that Democrats retake the House. It’s clear that Speaker Kevin McCarthy is operating at the mercy of the farthest-right members of his caucus. The best way we can push back on their dangerous agenda is by relegating them back into the minority.
There are very few pathways to winning back the House without keeping Illinois’ 17th District blue. That’s why my race is so important, and it’s why we’re doing everything we can to meet our mark before this deadline.
