I'm reaching out to you today with an urgent appeal. By now you’ve no doubt been inundated with the news of former President Trump’s criminal indictment in New York. While this is a major victory for all of us who believe in the rule of law, it's also a reminder that the fight is far from over.
The truth is that Trump is still out there, and he's still dangerous. He and his allies are already trying to undermine this criminal prosecution, and they’re likely to continue to do so. He’s called upon his supporters to protest and demonstrate his indictment across the country – a call to action reminiscent of the January 6th insurrection.
As the multiple investigations into Trump’s criminality continue – including probes of his involvement in the insurrection, the Georgia election meddling case, and his mishandling of classified documents – Trump and his allies are going to fight with everything they’ve got to protect him and shield him from accountability.
But the truth is that NOBODY is above the law – even former presidents – and as long as Trump fights to evade accountability, People For will be fighting alongside you to ensure Trump and his allies are brought to justice.
We’ve already joined our partners in mobilizing thousands of activists around the country as indictments are filed, and in the months ahead we will continue to expand our campaign to hold Trump accountable for his criminal behavior.
