Today, we’re celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility to lift up trans and nonbinary people as incredibly valued members of our community. In the face of extremists’ attacks on LGBTQ+ communities across the U.S., we’re more committed than ever to speaking up and fighting back.

In 2023, extremist lawmakers have proposed a horrifying 430+ anti-LGBTQ+ bills — including an appalling wave of anti-trans legislation. That includes SB 140 in Georgia, which restricts gender-affirming care for trans youth and criminalizes healthcare providers for following medical best practices. An incredible coalition fought back against SB 140, but unfortunately Governor Kemp ultimately signed it into law. It's vital to use our voices to support LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity nationwide.

The truth is, it’s the same lawmakers who are restricting the freedom to vote who are also attacking the LGBTQ+ community. Fair Fight Action’s vision for Georgia — and our democracy — includes everyone. That means making sure that our queer, trans, and nonbinary neighbors are protected by our laws.

Today and every day, we’ll continue to work towards a democracy that includes all of us, and where no one faces attacks on their identity and their existence.
