Johh,
Ever since Roe v. Wade was overturned last year, the extremists in our country have made it their priority to take control of people's bodies.
The awful reality is that 24 of our states are currently under abortion bans. Some states want to go even further. Just last month, the RNC urged Republicans to enact the strongest restrictions on abortion possible. Now, Republicans in South Carolina have introduced legislation that could subject women to the death penalty for having an abortion, and an activist judge in Texas is considering a ban of the abortion pill nationwide.
This is outrageous, but it's not going to get any better unless we do something about it.
As co-chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus, I've always advocated for passing strong legislation like the Women's Health Protection Act and the EACH Act to protect people's bodies and codify protections of reproductive healthcare.
But one of the best things we can do to help our country undo the harm of anti-abortion extremism is to take control of the House back from the GOP in the 2024 elections. By doing that, we can work together to find a better future for us all.
But it's not going to be easy, and if we're going to win in 2024, we need to put in the work now. Before our first end-of-quarter deadline of the year, will you make a donation of $10, $25, or whatever you can afford to help me fight for a pro-choice majority?
Thank you,
Diana DeGette
