Recognizing, Celebrating, and Honoring Women's History Month

As Women’s History Month comes to a close, it’s critical that we continue to honor, recognize, and celebrate the pivotal role that women have played in shaping American history. It is always a good time to reflect upon the many women who lead our communities and to celebrate their remarkable achievements. Over the months ahead, we must work together and encourage further study, recognition, and celebration of their accomplishments.

In Congress and across our state, I am proud to stand up for women’s rights, from equal pay to affordable child care to equal access to medical care — and always opposing any attempt to stand between a woman, her doctor, and her faith when making personal health care decisions.

Although we have made significant progress, there is still much work to be done. Women in New Jersey continue to earn only 80 cents on the dollar compared to their male counterparts. However, there are more than 230,000 women-owned businesses in New Jersey, creating more than 260,000 jobs and contributing $45 billion to the state’s economy. As of 2022, women-owned businesses accounted for 39.6% of business ownership in New Jersey. We must continue to work toward closing the gender pay gap and support women-owned businesses while providing family medical leave and child care.

I am actively fighting against assaults on women’s health and well-being. My focus will remain on protecting women’s right to choose, funding research on diseases that disproportionately impact women, promoting general health and wellness, and ensuring affordable and accessible care.

I remain committed to standing firm against any attempts to turn back the clock on the progress achieved by millions of women and girls. As your Representative, I will always fight to protect hard-won freedoms, and work tirelessly to defend the rights of all women.

Yours,
