On Monday we'll be totalling up the Green Party's fundraising numbers to
the end of March and filing our first-quarter report to Elections Canada.
Why is this important? Because in a few weeks, these numbers will be
published on the Elections Canada website - and Canadians will be watching.
Our Q1 numbers are an opportunity to make a statement. With your help, they
will set the tone to take sustained, meaningful action on climate change.
The latest IPCC report was a stark reminder of the challenges [1] ahead and
the importance of urgent action. As our Leader, Elizabeth May, said "It is
not hyperbole that this is a 'last chance' report. There is no more wiggle
room, no room for procrastination."
The latest Liberal "last chance budget [2]" fell woefully short of the
ambition needed to transition our economy away from fossil fuels and
extractives to meet the timelines expressed in the latest IPCC report.
