Oklahoma,

Happy Friday! Before you start your weekend, let's get you caught up on what's been happening this week.

The Senate successfully blocked the Biden Administration’s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule, an overreaching regulation that expanded the federal government’s authority over many small waterways. Under this misguided rule, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) could fine Oklahoma farmers and ranchers thousands of dollars if they simply rotate a crop without first gaining permission from the federal government. Our small businesses and family farms don’t deserve this. This is a huge win for Oklahomans and landowners across the country – the heavy hand of the federal government has no place in our backyards.

I had the privilege of meeting with two American heroes from Oklahoma who have earned our nation’s highest military decoration – the Medal of Honor. Okmulgee-native Army Sgt. 1st Class Melvin Morris was given the Medal of Honor for his unspeakable bravery in Vietnam, and Army Master Sgt. Earl D. Plumlee of Clinton, OK received the distinction for going above and beyond the call of duty in Afghanistan. Of the 40 million Americans who have served in the Armed Forces since the Civil War, only 3,525 have received the Medal of Honor. Please join me in thanking both of these brave Oklahomans for their incredible service.

Radical leftists have been going after President Trump since day one – and yesterday’s sham of an indictment is no different. Rather than blindly attacking the former president, Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg should be addressing the skyrocketing crime epidemic in his own backyard — a direct result of soft-on-crime policies. Oklahomans should see right through this partisan abuse of law.
