John,
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema―the Democrat turned Independent from Arizona―recently told a room full of Republican donors that it’s thanks to her that they kept their tax rates so low:[1]
Last year, with a 50-50 split in the U.S. Senate Democrats came close to passing the largest-ever investment in our country’s history―a roughly $2 trillion package that had passed the House. It was completely paid for by increasing taxes on the rich and corporations.[2] They had to settle for a smaller (yet still historic) roughly $500 billion package, because corporate Democrats like Sen. Sinema opposed many reforms to make the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share.[3]
Now, Democrats have a 51-49 advantage in the Senate and they no longer need Sen. Sinema’s vote and her Wall Street-friendly politics.
Help bring our graphic above to people across the country, including Kyrsten Sinema’s constituents, and let them know what she’s telling Republican donors behind closed doors. Pitch in $5 today.
Right now, Republicans like Mitt Romney are lining up to support Sinema in her re-election campaign. And, it’s increasingly likely that Sinema could switch who she caucuses with. Sinema was quoted in a recent Politico article as saying:
“I’m not caucusing with the Democrats, I’m formally aligned with the Democrats for committee purposes. But apart from that I am not a part of the caucus.”
Hold Kyrsten Sinema accountable to her constituents and let them know what she’s telling Republican donors behind closed doors. Pitch in today to bring our graphic above to voters in Arizona and across the country.
