We really need your help, Friend — our triple match ends at midnight and we are still $5,000 short of our $40,000 goal. We’re so close to the finish line —
can you help us get there with a gift right now?
Yesterday, the House voted 225-204 to pass H.R.1, a bill we’re calling the “Polluters Over People Act.”
We’re now in a critical moment. We could see a similar proposal in the Senate to massively expand oil and gas drilling and gut the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) — the law that requires environmental impact studies and allows communities to weigh in and push back on large or particularly devastating projects.
With a bill expected to drop soon, we’re quickly ramping up a campaign to pressure swing senators to vote NO. The problem is, after months of back-to-back must-win campaigns, the only way we continue is with your help. Please, triple your impact:
Help us keep up the pressure: we are so close to reaching our goal. Every contribution we receive — even as little as $5 — will go THREE TIMES as far through midnight tonight.
This situation is serious, Friend. Here’s why we can’t stand to lose the protections set forth by the NEPA:
- It means gutting the rules that require environmental impact studies before plans get approved.
- It means removing peoples' ability to have a say in what happens in their communities.
- It means putting the lives of countless endangered species on public lands at risk.
This could truly be the difference between a clean energy future supported by science, and one that intentionally pollutes our lands, waters, and air for decades — all in the interest of Big Oil.
But there is some good news — the environmental movement has a real shot at making sure NEPA remains protected, but not without your help.
We’re down to the wire, Friend. Triple your impact — even if it's just $5. Your support is what makes our campaigns possible.
Thanks so much for your support. We know we can win this with you by our side.
Onward,
Team LCV
