It's now official: For the first time in American history, a president will face criminal charges because a grand jury has moved to indict former President Trump.

Let me be clear when I say, the indictment of a former president is a somber day for America. And it's time that we put our faith in the judicial system. Because no matter the individual or the crime, every American deserves protection provided to them in the Constitution and under the rule of law.

The stain that Donald Trump has left on our democracy is still being felt across our country. But let us neither celebrate nor destroy. As the former president continues to call for sympathy and violence in his name, let all of us condemn his efforts to incite chaos in this process.

Justice benefits us all, team. And throughout the next couple of weeks, Trump and his MAGA allies will be screaming from the rooftops about this “attack from the left.”

This moment is huge for those like myself who have been fighting back against Donald Trump for years. But the fight isn’t over.

I’m going to keep fighting until Trump is no longer a threat to our democracy. We must stand tall in this historic moment. Will you chip in whatever you can today so I can continue to fight until Trump is no longer a threat to our democracy?
