The first public financial reporting deadline of the year is this Friday (March 31st) at midnight. It’s also the first fundraising benchmark since the outgoing San Jose mayor started polling to run against me.

For the first time in many years, I have to raise funds to spend on my own race. Trust me, I would much rather be solely focused on helping to flip the House back — and growing our numbers here in California to do that. But for now, I have to prepare for what is likely to be a very competitive fight to hold my own seat.
