The end of the first quarter is midnight tonight. We’ve received a tremendous response since Tuesday; thank you so much to everyone who has been able to help. But we are still short of the goal we set for Q1. Here is the link to make a First Quarter citizen

You might be wondering why this deadline is so important, when November 2024 is still a ways off. The reason is because several important dates are much sooner:
The Primary Election is in March next year, meaning ballots go out in early February (in 10 months).
The candidate filing window opens November 13 (in 7 months), so potential opponents will be launching their campaigns very soon – unless we demoralize them with our Q1 report.
The Democrat National Campaign Committee will be updating its 2024 target list any day, and we need to send a message that our seat is well-defended.
For these reasons, an early investment in our reelection will pay huge dividends, preventing much larger sums from having to be spent in the months ahead.
The most expensive races last year exceeded $20 million in spending – we can keep ourselves out of that category with a strong early showing. That will allow us to remain absolutely focused on shaking things up in D.C. and getting victories at the U.S. Capitol all through next year.
The DCCC has already announced that “House Democrats are well positioned to take back the House in 2024.” And they are keeping close tabs on our district for a few reasons:
They see California as their turf and will always want to oust any Republican Representatives.
Last year, we won the 218th seat that got us the GOP House Majority, so the Democrats see our district as key to a Pelosi Restoration.
In 2022 we overperformed, winning by 7.2 percent a district that was basically even between Democrat and Republican candidates in recent federal elections. So they see CA-03 as more ripe for the taking than our margin of victory might suggest.
They especially don’t like Republican Members of Congress who actually fight and who are powered by citizen-supporters. They truly hate that we are holding Biden and Newsom accountable.
I’ve gone back and forth between CA and DC a dozen times in the last few months. But there is no place I’d rather be right now, given everything that is at stake. It seems we are getting new reminders every day: the very foundation of our country is on the line.
It is an honor to fight for you – to fight with you – and I am grateful every day for the opportunity to do so. I continue to believe California is worth fighting for, and America is worth fighting for.
