On Monday, February 3, all eyes will be on Iowa and our first-in-the-nation caucuses. This is a powerful opportunity for you to make your voice heard on the issues that matter most.

Many people are surprised to find out the Iowa caucuses are not elections; they're simply the mechanism through which people can show their support for a candidate, and tell their political party what issues matter to them.

You have to be a registered Democrat or Republican to participate, but you can register for a party at the door, in minutes, if you wish. Caucuses can last for a few hours, but you're free to leave at any point.

The caucuses system, rightly, has been criticized for not being as inclusive as it should be. So it's especially important that people in marginalized communities, as much as they are able, participate and make their voices heard.
