Hello John —
This Monday, we lost three children and three adults to gun violence in yet another school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee: Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, Michael Hill, 61, Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9, Hallie Scruggs, 9, and William Kinney, 9.
The perpetrator used an AR-15 rifle to kill three students who were only nine years old and three school staff, including a substitute teacher, custodian, and the school head. How many more children will we have to watch die before our leaders ban weapons of war?
Last week, we honored the victims and survivors of gun violence by rallying in five states, where we met with state lawmakers to demand action on gun violence prevention legislation.
Thanks to your support, we passed gun safety bills in Michigan, held the first hearing in Pennsylvania in over a decade, introduced bills in California, and fought against dangerous laws in Texas and Florida.
Take a look at some highlights from our 5th Anniversary rallies last week alongside activists, students, educators, and supporters across the country:

March For Our Lives advocates organized a rally at the Florida state capitol in Tallahassee, FL to block Gov. DeSantis’s deadly carry bill. |

Young people in Michigan successfully pushed the state senate and house to pass a lifesaving 11-bill gun safety package. Now, the bill is headed to the Governor's desk. |

Hundreds of gun safety advocates from CeaseFire PA and March For Our Lives rallying in Harrisburg, PA. |

Young people showed up at the California state capitol to demand gun safety legislation in Sacramento, CA. |
This is why we do this work. We’ve made progress on this issue because you helped make it happen.
But our work isn't over. The massacre in Nashville should never have happened, and we have the power to prevent a single child from dying — if only our leaders would take action. We're going to demand it of them.
We cannot let up now. Will you recommit to ending gun violence with us by supporting our year-round organizing work?
In the wealthiest country in the world, no child should ever have to live in a constant state of fear of getting shot. No parent should worry about their kids not coming home from school. No educator should have to go to work and confront an active shooter to protect their life.
Together, we’re in the fight for our lives and will continue to push for bold gun safety measures for as long as it takes.
Thanks for being with us in this fight every single day.
In solidarity,
March For Our Lives
