A lot of people want to know what my job as a member of Congress entails.

To me, it’s simple: It’s my job to come to work every day and do what’s best for the people I represent. It’s my job to do what is right, not what is politically expedient or safe.

• I’m working for real solutions to our climate crisis. Inaction will have catastrophic consequences for communities across our nation.
• I’m fighting to protect Medicare and Medicaid from national Republicans’ plans to slash these life-saving programs. Too many people in our district rely on them.
• I’m opposing any plan that takes insurance away from people with pre-existing conditions.
• I’m standing up to the gun lobby and I’ll fight like hell for common sense gun reforms to keep my family -- and yours -- safe.

But to continue doing this work and making the progress we need, I need you to continue standing by my side.

National Republicans are attacking me already -- they’ll do everything they can to stop the progress we are making dead in its tracks.

And I'm up against a rightwing Republican opponent who has their support. She's embraced a platform of extremism opposing the ACA, coming out against LGBTQ rights, and standing firmly against a woman’s right to choose.

She has a shot at winning this seat and putting her extreme agenda into action. We can not allow that to happen.

It took everything we had to become the first Democrats to flip this seat in 46 years. I’m asking if you will be one of the 260 grassroots supporters who will help us hit our end-of-month goal and hold on to this seat.
