A Manhattan grand jury indicted Donald Trump yesterday, friends. This is the first time in U.S. history that a president — current or former — has faced criminal charges.

I know some are celebrating this. But I believe it's more important than ever to take a step back and let this process play out.

Trump refers to himself as the "law and order" president, while also spending years eroding trust in our institutions and our justice system. Now, Trump is calling for his supporters to take to the streets and protest. Again.

Despite Trump’s efforts, this indictment is a poignant reminder that our justice system remains intact and that no one — including a former president — is above the law.

It’s also important to remember that chaos and attention is what Trump wants. He revels in it, and celebrating his potential demise only feeds his narrative.

The time for Trump to be held accountable under the law is drawing near. Let's not give him the audience he so desperately craves. Instead, let’s be patient — to ensure he gets what he deserves.
